Problem & Purpose Statement
Problem: Soccer shoes limit the amount of flexibility and range of touch that bare feet allow.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a product for soccer athletes that would take full advantage of the foot's range of motion.

Hey everyone! My name is Jose Monroy and I am an Industrial Design major with a concentration on Product Design. I was actually attracted to this field of study after falling in love with the design of shoes. Naturally that is still my passion but I've learned to be more open minded in terms of design career paths.
My main source of inspiration comes from people who beat all of the odds and follow their dreams. While many of these examples are not related at all to my field of study, they serve as a base for what I want to be. Even though this is something very unlikely for me to become, I still aspire to do so. Aside from that, there is a great deal of both graphic and product design material that inspires me as well. In terms of graphic design I tend to like the simplicity of shapes and color even though sometimes I might find myself getting intrigued by the exact opposite. Same thing with product design, I absolutely love free-form shapes but that's not to say that I don't like geometric shapes. I guess it's safe to say that I basically like everything that does justice to its design.
My long term goal would definitely have to be to become a footwear designer for an elite corporation where I would be able to learn and grow as a designer. In the meantime, my short term goal is to find a full-time position as an assistant footwear designer.
Six words that best describe me: nice, determined, funny, caring, friendly, and overall awesome
